Here's the sign I'm working on, it's almost finished,
I've just got to finish this one, and  then do two more

and this is my studio.
Since you asked Jay.

sign writing

I don't have much to report at the moment, because I've come across some sign writing for a shoe store my neighbours own. But I must thank mathematics and the principles of similar shapes I learned in year 7, though it did take me awhile to remember. So at the moment I'm just a human photocopier.

The dark side of "The Little Mermaid"

"The Little Ursula" graphite on paper A4
Sadly I saw The Little Mermaid when it came out in cinemas, but I've always wondered what was it about Ursula that made her so bad, being a witch, hating King Triton, I often fantasize about a prequel to The Little Mermaid all about Ursula and how she came to be, but you know with an R rating with blood and breasts.

squid mouth

"The Pink Bow"
It's not the first squid mouth I've done, but it is the first with the tentacles in this way, just straight down, usually they are more "alive" flailing all over the place, but i thought I'd let them rest this time, and I think it looks a lot more natural.

It seems like all I do are portraits.
I've got to do a few more like this one, but it's cold and wet in the studio. I'm going to get back into it when the sun shows up again.

For a long time I thought bigger was better, but when it comes to transporting them, it can get a bit pricey, and from the buyers perspective, sometimes you don't have the wall space.

I haven't done anything over a metre square in about a year, and I don't know if I will this year, unless by request.
I would like to do something epic, something you can get lost in, I've done a few drafts but it ends up looking like my very old stuff, I'll keep throwing ideas at the drawing board until something sticks.

I have a few ideas already lined up to be painted, and I have to fight the urge to scratch them just to go off and find this epic work, if I did that I'd have like seventeen incomplete paintings rotting in the shed. The next idea after the one I'm doing now is a girl having her hair dried by a jet engine like hairdryer in a hair dryer salon in the 1980s, hopefully it comes out ok, and does not become an abomination.

Erotic horror

H. P. Lovecraft and Brian Lumley have been a strong influence in my work over the years.

I do like the idea of sexy monsters, I've gone on about it before.

This drawing is just graphite on paper A4. Titled "Demonic Nympho Dom."

60x75cm acrylic paint airbrushed onto canvas, I'm not crazy about stencils, I like to paint freestyle.

I was going for a high school princess with the study of the frog in biography with cheap links such as the frog not just being Kermit but a prince, Egyptian crown with the Cobra and the Vulture and the plague of frogs and a blue bird landing on the shoulder to give that Disney princess feel.

I spent a bit of time on this one, not just painting but getting the idea out onto paper.

I'm not unhappy with the result, but I'm not in love with it.

"Masks", reversed work in progress

So this is pretty much what I've done this week, the drool strings didn't work to well for me, better luck next time, eh?
I also had to drag out the second (middle) face so it wouldn't overlap and cover the nipple.

they come in threes

Often when I get an idea for a piece, it is hard to shake the idea after it is completed, so I end up doing two or three more similar drawings or paintings. Sometimes the ideas can linger for years.

So these are the Three witches, and I am trying my best not to another for awhile.
